The mission of the Missouri EMS Funeral Response Team is to provide profession funeral support and services to agencies and survivors of Missouri EMS Providers who have given their life in the line of duty, have died while still actively serving, or have served as a EMS provider or administrator.
The Missouri EMS Funeral Response Team is a trained and dedicated corps of EMS volunteers who will respond to you department when requested. We are pre-hospital medical providers who volunteer right here in Missouri. Our goal is that every pre-hospital provider who gives the ultimate sacrifice receives final honors and last rights.
We provide professional honor guard services and specialize in assistance of serious injury events. These can include funeral procedures post-event, or pre-planning and SOG guidance for either Line of Duty Deaths, or Non-LODD. Our goal is to represent all members of the EMS profession with honor, dignity, and respect. Additionally, we strive to provide compassion, support, and assistance to the families, colleagues, and departments of fallen EMS personnel.
The Missouri EMS Funeral Response Team can provide the following services:
1. Professional honor guard services
2. Assistance/Guidance to departments with the funeral process from death notification through burial.
3. Assistance recognizing and filing for LODD benefits on the federal, state, and local levels for surviving families.
4. Creating SOG's for departments for LODD and non-LODD events
Program; Losing One of Our Own, Preparing to Honor the EMS Provider
This 90 minute program provides very basic information on preparing your organization if you loss a member of your organization. Whether it is a Line of Duty or Non-Line of Duty, organizations should have a policy / guidelines in place so that "Emotions" do not take over. This Free program is provided to any organization that wishes more information about what is available and what organizations need to be aware of if a member passes away or gives the ultimate sacrifice, their life in the line of duty. The program does not go into the depth that the 6 hour class does, but does share in 90 minutes information about emotions, as well as covers what is a line of duty death, basic pre-plan and prepare, levels of honors, and very basic information about The federal Public Safety Officers Benefits as well as the Missouri Providers benefits.

This 6 hour Free program shares information on how to prepare your organization if you would lose a member of your organization in the line of duty. And do not let the word "Introduction" fool you. We dive into myths and other items that most individuals do not know. The program shares information on what is a "Line of Duty" and what is not. Information in the program will help you set policies for your organizations. Plus it also cover Public Safety Officers Benefits and you is covered and who is not.
